Utah County Water Restrictions

Most residents in Utah County have begun irrigating their lawns and landscapes.  Because we live in a desert with limited water resources, it is important to make efficient use of the water we do have.  Visit our irrigation page to learn more about how you can be water wise.

Cities throughout the county have various water schedules and restrictions for homeowners.  Here is a list of Utah County water restrictions by city.  These are as of May 1, 2015 and are subject to change.  You can click on each city name to go directly to the city website.

*Large water users such as schools, businesses and churches will have different schedules and will be watering during the daytime in all cities.

Date water turned on: May 1, 2015.
Schedule and Restrictions:
  • Even house numbers can water Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
  • Odd house numbers can water on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • No watering on Sunday.
  • Watering any time of day is OK.
  • They will be policing.

2. Lehi

Date water turned on: Water on now.
Schedule and Restrictions– Begin May 11, 2015:Utah County Water Restrictions
a. Lawn Watering: Limited to two days a week according to city or county street addresses.
  • Odd-numbered addresses: Monday and Friday
  • Even-number addresses: Tuesday and Saturday
  • Spot-watering on Sunday
b. Hard-Surface Washing: No hard-surface washing, except for health or safety reasons.
c. Swimming Pools: Use pool covers when pools are not in use and lower the water level by four inches to reduce water loss from splashing.
d. Outdoor Fountain & Ponds: Water may not spray above fountain or pond surface.
e. Washing Personal Vehicles:  Use a bucket or a positive pressure nozzle on the end of any hose. Wash the vehicle on the lawn or another permeable surface.
f. Recreation Sprinklers & Outdoor Water Toys: Prohibited.
Date water turned on: April 15.
Schedule and Restrictions:
  • Odd house numbers can water Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
  • Even house numbers Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • No residential watering on Sunday, except for short spot watering with bucket or hose.
  • No time of day restrictions yet, but recommended between 6:00 pm and 10:00 am
  • No duration restrictions yet, but recommended not longer than 30 minutes per station.

4. AlpineUtah County Water Restrictions

Date water turned on: April 15.
Schedule and Restrictions:
  • Odd house numbers can water on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • Even house numbers can water on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
  • No Sunday Watering.
  • Time of day restricted to 7:00 pm on scheduled day to 7:00 am the following morning.
Enforcement:
  • First Offense: Warning
  • Second Offense: $50 fine. Payment required to have PI valve unlocked.
  • Third/Future Offenses: $200 fine. Payment required to have PI valve unlocked.
Date water turned on: Water on now.
Schedule and Restrictions:
  • Odd house numbers can water Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
  • Even house numbers can water on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
  • All residents can water dry spots on Sunday.

Time of day restrictions:

  • For automatic sprinkler systems: before 10:00 am and after 6:00 pm on allowed days
  • For homes without automated sprinklers: between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm on allowed days
Enforcement:
  • First offense: written warning and reminder of restrictions.
  • Second offense: locked out of the system, with a $100 reinstatement fee.
  • Third offense: Class C misdemeanor and a $300 fine.

6. Cedar HillsOremProvo, and Mapleton currently have no restrictions.
